Long Beach native Joe Brand started his deli experience as a teenager working for Tamburino’s Deli in Cedarhurst, NY. Joe took those deli roots and in 1990 he and his partner Mike opened Zamboni’s Deli and Catering in Long Beach, NY. After selling Zamboni’s Joe worked for the City of Long Beach as the Parks Commissioner for almost 10 years. Joe knew one day he would return to the deli business and in May, 2012 he opened Brand’s Deli.
Many people know Joe as “Coach.” For over 20 years Joe has been the coach of the Long Beach Varsity High School Hockey team and has led the Marines to three state championships.
