Tile Bar

Tile Bar is an unpretentious East Village staple that has been open since the 1980s (back when the NYC bar scene was a lot different than what we see today). There are no Instagrammable floral motifs, neon quotes, or espresso martinis. There is cold beer, strong drinks, and a bartender that most likely knows your name.

That’s right – Tile Bar differs from any other bar in New York City by preserving a piece of history and letting the bar remain unaltered for nearly 40 years. Only one aesthetic change has been made – a sign listing the name East Village locals have given us: “Tile Bar”.
